The Heights is one of Camarillo's older neighborhoods with houses dating back to the turn of the last century. Lots here are typically larger than the newer construction found in neighborhoods like Mission Oaks and often still contain remnants of the area's historic orchards. Because of the larger lots, some families choose to keep small livestock and chickens. This neighborhood, situated north of Las Posas Road, is largely on unincorporated land. The dividing line is easily visible where concrete sidewalks change to asphalt, if any at all.
