St. John's Seminary is the oldest institution of higher education in Camarillo, never mind that young upstart CSUCI. St. John's is up on a hill just off Lewis Road, and helps to educate the next generation of Catholic priests.
The institution was created as a result of an 1923 land grant from Don Juan E. Camarillo of 100 acres, and began training priests in 1939.
The campus has a bookstore specific for the campus: St. John's Seminary/Bookstore.
